Call for participation in the I International Congress “Women, Technology and Power”

The congress is organised by the University of Deusto and the COST Action Work Inclusion Living Lab Action Platform (PWILL) in collaboration with the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the University of Amsterdam, and the partnership of Dimmons action research group.

The conference will take place on June 17, 18 and 19, 2024 in Donostia-San Sebastián, Spain. The theme of the conference is located at the intersection of women, power and technology to explore issues such as the power asymmetries hidden in digital technology, the stories of women in technology, and the relationship between platformization, datafication and gender.

OBJECTIVES: The event aims to address pressing challenges in the field of gender, communication, and technology studies, making it a prestigious platform for academics seeking new perspectives on these issues. This meeting will provide the opportunity to share ideas about the role of technology as a form of power, the impact of data infrastructure on gender equality, and the possibilities that digital technology offers to promote equity. The presentations and discussions will be carried out in English. 

Keynote speakers: Stefania Milan, Catherine D’Ignazio, Maria Lozano Alia, Elisa Garcia, and Mayo Fuster Morell.

PANEL PARTICIPATION: We would also like to encourage you to propose an abstract to participate in any of the four panels. Send your proposal to https://congress.antifeministresistances.com, specifying which panel you are applying to. We are expanding the deadline to May 22. Announcement of the selected papers for publication and abstracts: June 3, 2024.
