New call for Conference and Mobility Grants — due 08/05/2024

We are pleased to announce the first call for Conference and Mobility Grants for PWILL’s 3rd grant period.

Type of activities to be funded

  • Mobilities
    • Short Term Scientific Missions (STSMs): Visits of a host organization located in a different country than the country of affiliation by a Researcher or Innovator for a specific work to be carried out and for a determined period of time.
    • Virtual Mobilities: Virtual exchanges among researchers or innovators within the COST Action to exchange new knowledge or learn new techniques.
  • Conference Grants (see our warning about predatory conferences below)
    • ITC Conference Grants: A presentation of the own work given by a Young Researcher and Innovators (YR&I) affiliated in an Inclusiveness Target Country (ITC) / Near Neighbour Country (NNC) for their participation in high-level conferences.
    • Dissemination Conference Grants: A presentation of the own work of the Action in high-level conferences by an Action participant, regardless of the country of affiliation.

All activities should be finalised (at the latest) by 30th September 2024, so the final report can be uploaded and the grant can be paid within the current grant period.

The deadline for the submission of individual requests for the aforementioned modalities is 8th May 2024. Answers will be provided in one week.

The selection process will promote geographical spread (involving members affiliated with ITC institutions), career stage (involving YR&I), and gender balance in line with COST Excellence and Inclusiveness Policy. Priority will also be given to proposals with a gender perspective, those presenting work plans and outcomes clearly connected to WGs’ deliverables, leadership positions, and participants who have not received funding in previous grant periods.

Applications should be submitted through the e-cost profile via Once applicants log in, they should click on “Grant Applications,” from where they will be redirected to the page “Apply for a new Grant.”

Warning about predatory conferences

Recently, we have become aware of the proliferation of predatory conferences, “poorly organized or non-existent conferences that exploit presenters and attendees by collecting registration fees.” When identifying venues for presenting your research, please consider these and these recommendations to avoid predatory conferences. You can find more information about this growing phenomenon here.
