We are pleased to confirm that the abstract submission deadline for the upcoming international scientific conference: “Platform Work in South East Europe – Intersectionality, Feminist Futures, and the Gold Economy” has been extended to 15 April 2025.
This extension offers additional time for researchers, practitioners, and policy experts to prepare and submit their contributions to this interdisciplinary and forward-looking dialogue on platform work, digital transformation, and social justice in South East Europe.
We welcome abstracts (300–500 words) for research papers, policy studies, and case studies that engage with the conference’s key themes, including:
Algorithmic management and workers’ rights
Feminist political economy and intersectionality
Inclusive governance and digital labour policy
Future scenarios for work shaped by AI and platformisation
Conference Highlight:
One of the highlights of the event will be a keynote presentation by the European Training Foundation (ETF) team on their visionary framework: “Colours of the Economy”, introduced at the World of Work (WoW) event in 2024. This model presents diverse, scenario-based economic futures, including:
White Economy: Health and social care professions in ageing societies
Silver Economy: Innovation for and by older populations
Gold Economy: Digitalisation, lifelong learning, and the future of education
Green Economy: Sustainability, circularity, and eco-innovation
Blue, Orange & Yellow Economies: Water resource governance, creative industries, and climate-adaptive economic models
These scenarios provide powerful tools for experts in healthcare, education, gender studies, labour rights, public policy, and innovation to anticipate transformations in the world of work.
